Quick and Easy DIY Patch Holder

My hiking adventures have earned me a few fun patches and I love to display them on my pack! I made this easy DIY Patch Ring to hold my patches that keep them secure to my pack with a quick off for pictures.

DIY Patch Holder

Materials needed:

  • Cable Loop – I like these from Amazon. They are a good price, coated, durable, and pretty. I’ve had the same one for 2 years and it still looks new.
  • A pair of pliers
  • A nail
  • A gas stove or other type of open flame
  • Your patches

All you have to do is use your pliers to hold your nail and heat the end of the nail up over the flame (be safe!). Then push the nail through the back of the patch to make a hole. Then string your patches on the cable loop and connect the loop. Then I use a carabiner to attach the loop to my pack, making it quick and easy to remove for pictures while hiking.

There are so many fun ways to customize these! Tassels, beads, and even keyrings could be added for some flair!

I hope you enjoyed this simple DIY for your patches! Please tag me on Instagram or TikTok using yours @momma.llama.77! Happy hiking!!
